My name is Keith Wigdor. I am a Surrealist, Artist and Art Collector.
I am the website owner and gallery manager of, SURREALISM NOW! which features the best in Surrealism and all its affinities, including the Fantastic Realism and Visionary Art Movements, Dark Art, Macabre & Horror, Anarchist & Experimental Art.
I have been working in Photomontage and Collage, Digital Art, Abstract Oil on Canvas and Automatic Ink Drawings since 1998. My creative output is primarily photomontage and the tools that I use are razors, boxcutters and glue.
I am also very active in collecting art from artists past and present which you can view online in THE KEITH WIGDOR COLLECTION on SURREALISM NOW!
I am the Creative Director (appointed by Brigid Marlin) on the North American Branch of the Committee for THE SOCIETY FOR THE ART OF THE IMAGINATION, (I am also a member) http://www.artofimagination.org
I have exhibited in SURREALISM NOW! 2010 in Coimbra, Portugal with Santiago Ribeiro and many other Surrealist, Fantastic and Visionary Artists from all over the world.
I also exhibited in The Society for Art of the Imagination's, ART OF VISION 2009 show at THE SEED GALLERY in Newark, New Jersey, curated by my dear artist friends, OLGA SPIEGEL, FRANCE GARRIDO and MIGUEL TIO. My art is now permanently part of The Seed Gallery's collection.
I have curated the online INTERNATIONAL SURREALIST SHOW 2008 which featured artists from the Surrealist Movement and those on exhibit here on SURREALISM NOW!
I have worked with the Legendary Surrealist and Founder of The West Coast Surrealist Group, GREGG SIMPSON, on THE INTERNATIONAL SURREALIST SHOW 2006 that was presented online at SURREALISM NOW! last August of 2006. Many great surrealists and artists are on exhibit in that online show.
I am also the organizer of the past online international surrealist event, SURREALISM 2003, where I featured many surrealist artists (and poets) including: Gregg Simpson-(Legendary Surrealist from Canada and founding member of The West Coast Surrealist Group), Oleg Korolev-(Master Oil Painter of Contemporary Realism and Visionary Art), David Magitis-(Master of Horror and Dark Surreal Art), Peter Lewis-(Master of Collage Art from WarpArt), Hiroshi Matsushita, Pauline Jones, Hisham Zrake, Andrey Doukhan, Daniel Bonato, Luc Langlois, Andrew Penland, and GC Roush 2.
Back in 2002 I was featured in two consecutive issues of CHURN ART MAGAZINE, http://www.littlegiger.com/articles/index2002.shtml and http://www.churnmag.com.
*I appeared in the same issue along with the award winning-visionary and surrealist artist H.R.GIGER and also with Collage Art Master, PETER LEWIS and Digital Artist, WILL CASCIO and also the Legendary Surreal Horror artists CANIGLIA and MIKE BOHATCH.
Since 1998, I have created over 1500 artworks, from Digital Artworks to Photomontages, to Oil on Canvas Paintings to Automatic Ink Drawings and Various Experiments with Filters and Layers in Photoshop and Bryce Software.
I also provided artwork for independent (and underground) writers and poets, (John Lawson's DREAM PEOPLE), on the internet as well. "DARK SURREAL" is an art chapbook from 2003, that I collaborated on with my good friend, Master Surreal Horror Artist, DAVID MAGITIS.
I have been a contributor to past issues of the online zine, THE DREAM PEOPLE, http://www.dreampeople.org. My art has also been featured in pdf.format in the online chapbooks, "DEAD IN 13 FLASHES" (and its sequel, "DEAD IN 13 FLASHES 2") and is also available from THE DREAM PEOPLE which you can download both for free.
My art was also featured in many online zines and websites including, BLOODCOOKIES WEBZINE, THE ORACULAR TREE, LATCHKEY, COLLAGE ART MUSEUM, ARTITUDE, ART RENEGADES, AMBULANT, ABSURDIST JOURNAL, ORIONS ARM, PASSENGER MAY and WILD VIOLET.
My art was exhibited at CHURN's RELEASE PARTY at STUDIO Z, in SAN FRANCISCO, CA. 2002 and also at GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY (in 2002), "THE OMEGA POINT" and at DEVRY TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY in 2005, "THE LITERARY SOCIETY", Poetry Release Publication (cover art) and Exhibition.
I also exhibited on THE HAMMOND GALLERY's online group exhibition curated by artist BILL AYTON and IAN EADE, "THE SEVERED GARDEN" back in 2003. I also worked for IAN EADE as his Gallery Manager on both Now Surreal UK and The Hammond Gallery.
I will continue to work primarily in Surrealism and maintain my creative output in other areas of interest as well, especially collecting art, comics, magazines, books, prints and posters!!!!!!!!!!!!!
