Below is probably one of my favorite ART ROCK POSTERS of ALL TIME! Its the Classic and Legendary Poster for THE 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS Live at The Avalon Ballroom. This is the 3rd printing run of this poster, which is still RARE! The original artwork was done by STANLEY MOUSE and ALTON KELLY in 1966. This is the notorious "ZEBRA MAN" poster which really looks great for when the viewer is tripping out on LSD!!!!!! A perfect combination of Psychedelic Art and Surrealism and its a my favorite of all my posters! I had purchased this gem directly from the company called, ART ROCK back in the early 1990s. This 3rd printing that I bought is now approaching the 20 year mark. I do plan to get an original 1st printing, which is being sold over at WOLFGANG's VAULT! However, this piece is still a gem and I have it hanging on exhibit!!!!!!!!

Below is The Holy Grail of Art Rock Posters, "THE FLYING EYEBALL" by RICK GRIFFIN, for a concert featuring JIMI HENDRIX, JOHN MAYALL and ALBERT KING, its the BG 105 2nd printing. Here is the story on this gem and how I aquired it. Back in 1984, I had a friend who played bass guitar in a band that I did videos for on the local club circuit in NYC. One day, he decided to give me this poster, while we were discussing the great GOD of Rock, Jimi Hendrix, my friend knew how much I loved Hendrix's music and how I worshipped him. So, as a gesture of friendship and of total loyalty, he gave me this poster, which he got from his older brother during the mid 1970s. The story he told me was that his older brother, got it at a head shop in the mid 1970s and then passed it down to him. As I look back on all of this now, I came to the realization that I had been lucky enough to aquire one of the rarest and most sought after of the original Art Rock Posters of all time, the 2nd printing BG 105. I think my friend may have misjudged the value of this masterpiece by giving it to me, but that is what true friendship and loyalty is all about folks, plus, when I was doing my own research in the early 90s on ART ROCK, this poster was being priced at $5000 and that was close to 20 years ago. Here is info on this rare poster from the website WOLFGANGS VAULT:
*The 2nd printing (see BG105) is on glossy stock and places the "5" of "105" over the "T" of "Tickets" in the bottom left hand corner. It was printed after the concert on 12/14/1968, and it measures 14" x 21 11/16".

Below you will see my most treasured ART ROCK POSTERS and this is a poster for JIM SALZER presents THE GRATEFUL DEAD with THE DOORS Live at EARL WARREN SHOWGROUNDS April 29,1968. I am really not at all sure if this poster is a 3rd printing, because I had purchased this gem from the poster company ART ROCK back in the early 1990s and this is now almost twenty years ago. The poster is real hard to get, I don't even know who the artist is, (if anyone out there knows who the artist that did this poster, PLEASE CONTACT ME!!!), but ART ROCK had offered some limited quantities of this gem for sale via their mail-order catalogue (this was before the Internet) and I bought it! Its one of my most treasured of the ART ROCK Posters in my collection, I cannot even find this on the WOLFGANG's VAULT website, though I guess it may have been on there in the past. Anyways, that is the story on how I got it, now let me tell you all what I think about it! Well, firsthand, the poster and show is HISTORIC and LEGENDARY!!! THE GRATEFUL DEAD and THE DOORS, both bands sharing the same bill and same stage along with these other bands like UFO and CAPTAIN SPEED, its a RARE ONE!!! The Grateful Dead in their early career did share the bill with many great legendary bands back in the late 1960s, and The Doors were a favorite of mine, as well as many others! I truly regret not being born earlier (I was born in the 1960s) so that I could have been old enough to attend this HISTORIC show! If there is anyone out there that was at this show, please contact me or my good friend, DAVE ARON from DEADvids.com, its a story to be told!!!!!!!!!!!

Below you will see one of my most treasured counterculture magazines from my collection, CRAWDADDY May 1967 RARE Original 1st edition issue #9 with photocredits by LINDA EASTMEN (Paul McCartney's future wife) and design by ROY MEYRICH. I am really heavily into collecting any 1960s counterculture art, music, magazines, posters, etc, and this issue is one of my favorites in my collection because of the graphic design collage layout by Roy Meyrich, which is a perfect photomontage design! I can really appreciate graphic design as a fine art when I come across a rare gem like this, especially when The Rolling Stones (circa 1967) are the main subject! Also, this particular issue fetches high prices on the collector's circuit of rare 60's memorabilia, going between $35 to $200 dollars an issue, (& more) depending on the issue of CRAWDADDY.
