SURREALISM NOW! UPDATE: NOVEMBER 26, 2009 (Thanksgiving Day):
Below is the latest addition to The Keith Wigdor Collection and its one of the most critically praised and most talked about paintings from the last historic show, "THE 13th HOUR" from LAST RITES GALLERY in NYC run by Paul Booth and his gallery director, Andrew M. Ford. This Masterpiece is called, "DISILLUSION" and its an oil on wood (22 x 30in) painting by GENEVIVE ZACCONI, who is now the most celebrated artist, and highly praised by her peers and contemporaries. This oil painting had its first unveiling at Last Rites and had an enormous impact on its first exhibit.

UPDATES: OCTOBER 20, 2009: During the course of this year 2009, myself and three other contemporary surrealists from The International Surrealist Movement: SHAHLA ROSA, TODD BASH, and OVIDIO CARTAGENA, have been collectively creating Surrealist Revolution through the longest Surrealist Poem in existence and that is, "THE ORANGE SNIPER". This is the very first of its kind, because this particular surrealist poem is a collaborative poem that goes on and on forever, it never really stops. Our surrealist comrade and friend, Shahla has told me yesterday that components from "THE ORANGE SNIPER" will be transferred to a brand new painting that she is currently working on, and it features, yours truly, ME!!! Yes, folks, this is the very first time that Keith Wigdor will appear in a large oil on canvas painting and its painted by none other than the greatest female surrealist of all time, and that's SHAHLA ROSA!!! Plans for this new painting that Shahla has been telling me about has already blown my mind completely. She intends this painting to be the very first of its kind, where SURREALISM, POETRY, and REVOLUTION is elevated to a PAINTING, evolved from our current collaborative work, "THE ORANGE SNIPER". The name of this painting will be a secret until Shahla gives me the go ahead to let you all know!!! SURREALISM NOW! UPDATE: OCTOBER 13, 2009: SURREALISM NOW! will be undergoing site maintenance and upgrades over the next couple of days. The site will still be available online, I just have to readjust a lot of the text and headers on here. After all maintenance and upgrades are done, I will give you all notice. The site needs to be mofidied for viewing with Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, which I recently had to download and I originally built the site back in 2006 with the browser Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and now I have to upgrade. Technology STINKS!

SURREALISM NOW! UPDATES: SEPTEMBER 22, 2009: I have been VERY BUSY over the past couple of days, and I want to let you all know that THE KEITH WIGDOR COLLECTION is growing at an enormous rate!!!!!!!
I still have yet to unearth many artworks, prints, etc, etc, to upload to the collection, because I still have to go through SO MUCH to photograph and upload (as well as making newer art additions as well). UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 12, 2009: Every single day of the week, I am taking a surrealist stroll around Chelsea, NYC and I pass by one of the most surrealist of all places in the entire city of New York and that is the historic HOTEL CHELSEA. Why do you ask is this historic landmark of NYC, "SURREALIST"??? Well, the answer can only be found if you are a surrealist and if you are capable of seeing ghosts and spirits who are floating around outside the hotel and around 23rd street!!!!!!!!!!!

SURREALISM NOW! UPDATE: JULY 22, 2009: I am ecstatic to report this new update to you all because one of my all-time favorite artists is now officially on board to exhibit here on SURREALISM NOW! and that is the one and only Master Artist, CHRISTOPHER CONTE! The art sculptures of Chris Conte are classified as Dark, Surreal, Cyberpunk, Cybernetic, and Biomechanical, his creations are the most intense and unique artworks to come along in a long time. I have never seen a artist of such skill and innovation as Christopher Conte, whose work has been published in magazines such as WIRED and POPULAR SCIENCE and also used by THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL and MTV NETWORKS! Also, I am proud to say that I own one of Conte's artworks, "COGNITION" in my personal art collection, which I also have on exhibit here on SURREALISM NOW!!!!!!!

SURREALISM NOW! UPDATE: JUNE 18th, 2009: I have been very busy over the past couple of weeks, especially with the newest feature here on SURREALISM NOW! and that is THE KEITH WIGDOR COLLECTION!!!
The feedback that I received was so positive from this new exhibition of my personal collection, that I have decided to rebuild, reconstruct, and reformat the entire online collection into seperate gallery menus for easy navigation and a more efficient organization of material. I already have nine seperate galleries already built and I am currently in the process of constructing and uploading past material to the new galleries as well as new material that you all will really love. I am also working on unearthing artworks, paintings, prints, posters, books, periodicals, magazines, and vinyl, etc to the galleries, once I have them ready to upload and publish, you will then be able to see them LIVE! I am VERY EXCITED OVER THIS!!!

SURREALISM NOW! UPDATE: JUNE 9th, 2009: I did the Cover Art for John Edward Lawson's new book called, "THE PLAGUE FACTORY". Its available from John's company, RAW DOG SCREAMING PRESS. This cover is an old experimental graphic art illustration that I did with inks, colored pencils, 50 plus layers and filters and overlays for this piece to give a hallucinogenic LSD/SCI-FI effect that I am very happy with, since its now on the book cover. There are MANY NEW DEVELOPMENTS here on SURREALISM NOW! for the next coming months! First, the recent (and still current) art show at THE SEED GALLERY, "ART OF VISION" will be extended another month at the gallery, so please do not hesitate to stop by gallery in Newark, NJ. Also, there will be more pictures from the exhibit uploaded on to here, when I get more photos, I will upload them on to the updates page.

Also, there are still many, many, many more uploads, etc, etc, to do for THE KEITH WIGDOR COLLECTION, since I have so much more to show you from my Rare Art, Book, Vinyl, Print and Poster Collection, many old and new artworks, etc, that I am unearthing, and once I have updated the collection gallery, I will let you all know! I am so very happy from the feedback that I already have received on this new gallery of my rare art, book, vinyl, print and poster, etc, collection.

Also, some more wonderful news, SURREALISM NOW! is going to be the official agent and representative of one Master Surreal Artist, who many of you already know who this artist is, but for now, I have to keep this secret, until all details are finalized and worked out, I will announce the news when all is done. I have been chosen by this particular artist to be his agent, manager, representative and seller, so I am very excited by this news and you will be too, once I let you all know who the artist is and when his art will be available for sale, etc.

Also, I have two new book covers coming out by RAW DOG SCREAMING PRESS, run by my friend and comrade, JOHN LAWSON, and I will let you know once the books with my cover art go to press and will be available for sale! On Saturday, MAY 9th, 2009, SURREALISM, FANTASTIC REALISM and VISIONARY ART descended upon THE SEED GALLERY in Newark, NJ. The show opened early with artists, families and friends and curiosity seekers and passerbys coming in attendance, and from the headcount that I made throughout the entire show, from 2pm to the very end of the night, there was a total of 200 plus visitors to the exhibition. There are three floors to this gallery and its huge, with extremely large wall and floor space that would give the art galleries here in Chelsea, a run for the money, because The Seed is Brand New and there is PLENTY OF SPACE, which was very beneficial to the presentation of this show.

Surrealist Artists from The International Surrealist Movement, Fantastic Realism Artists, and Artists from The Visionary Art Movement, who all belong to The Society for Art of Imagination in the UK and USA, have all decided to exhibit together in a show of unity among all three major art movements. At this stage, there are really no more seperations among various groups of artists, etc, since this particular art show will set the stage for future AOI shows at The Seed Gallery. Also, two community representatives, associated with the Mayor of Newark, was so taken with the show and all the art, they told us all that they would be helping with promoting the show and the gallery for everyone there in Newark.

The most outstanding feature of the show was the caliber of painting, which is the BEST in the World. ALL the TECHNICAL Masters were on exhibit, from LAURIE LIPTON to VINCENT CASTIGLIA to BRIGID MARLIN, etc, etc, etc, were ALL there! The MASTERPIECES were accompanied not only with paintings, but also sculptures, along with hanging painted umbrellas, which added a nice visionary surrealist element to the show.

The International Surrealist Movement has a Surrealist Publication that is called, "SCARABEUS" which was originally started up by the late great LADISLAV GUDERNA. Their new issue of SCARABEUS is now online for the first time and two of my collages are featured in it! Thanks to the great Surrealist GREGG SIMPSON who put this all togther!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is with great sadness that I inform those of you who do not already know, that NATASHA RICHARDSON has just passed away. Let us not forget this great actress and artist with her brilliant work in both stage and screen, her contributions to the arts is eternal. Here is a rare trailer from her collaboration with Ken Russell in the 1986 film GOTHIC, where she plays MARY SHELLEY, its a clip of her early film work and from one of my all-time favorite films, I am just devasted over this terrible news.

One of the main reasons why I myself am an Art Collector, the Actor and Artist, DENNIS HOPPER, has one of the most AMAZING Art Collections! He has been collecting art since the 1950's, and here in this video below he describes his passion for collecting (something which I myself have a passion and obsession over). I came across this video a few years ago and I want you all to see it and understand why its so important to collect art, not only for the passion, enjoyment, (and investment), etc, but also for its historic relevance as well. COLLECT ART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our dear friend and comrade, SUZZAN BLAC, has literally taken over the Dark Art Movement. Suzzan's art is now being featured in many art publications and also in movies as well! From films, to galleries, to magazines, to her own solo show, Suzzan is taking no prisoners and setting the world on fire with her INTENSE ART!!!!!!!! It is with great sadness that I report this news to those that do not already know! The Legendary BETTIE PAGE passed away just recently. Bettie was the most radical of all artists, she DARED to ACT on DESIRE, at a time in America where Conservatism was the norm and when there was zero tolerance for fetish artists, Bettie Page surely was truly a Revolutionary Artist. Her body of work in photos, films, and magazines is just mind boggling, due to the enormous amount of projects and material that she had worked on. Bettie was the one who broke down so many barriers for all women and everyone who was wrongly subjected to being penalized for their art and work. Everyone who is involved in the Arts, in the Fetish Industry and in Surrealism and Revolution owe a great deal of debt to this wonderful artist! Bettie, you will be sorely missed!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!

An Historic Solo Exhibit just took place at the HR GIGER MUSEUM in Switzerland by our great friend, VINCENT CASTIGLIA. Everyone who has been following Vincent's artwork knows about his genius, now the whole world knows about the Master CASTIGLIA and his eternal artworks! This is a Legendary show and a milestone for Vincent Castiglia who is only 26 years old and the first artist of his caliber to have a solo show at the magnificent Giger Museum.
